Even Still is a short dance film I created in July 2025 with 5 friends. We created the whole thing in a weekend. I am proud of what we created together! My dancers did an incredible job on location in such a short amount of time, and I am so grateful for their hard work and artistry.

Rachel Redding is a choreographer, photographer, and videographer based in Houston, Texas. Her work exists at the intersection of movement and image, where dance becomes a cinematic experience and the camera becomes an extension of the body and a choreographic tool.With a background in contemporary and theatrical dance, Rachel brings a choreographic eye to every frame. Whether directing movement on stage, behind the lens, or in post-production, she crafts visual narratives that highlight the emotional and physical truths of performance.Rachel holds a BFA in Dance from Sam Houston State University and is currently pursuing her MFA in Dance at SHSU. Her graduate research and creative practice center on the integration of choreography, photography, and videography, exploring how movement can be experienced, preserved, and transformed through the camera.She has been a movement-focused photographer for over 15 years, with a portfolio that spans live performance, conceptual shoots, and artist branding. As a filmmaker, she is largely self-taught and has taken specialized coursework in screendance and digital media.Rachel has collaborated with dancers, choreographers, and arts organizations to create work that is both artistically rich and visually resonant. She is especially drawn to projects that center storytelling, world-building, and the lived experience of artists.She is currently based in Houston and available for freelance projects, commissions, and collaborations.
